I possess a mate of mine that I am always arguing with about what software is the best, and what spyware program is the best. Here is the breakdown of the story.

My buddy, is one of those people who are terribly fond of the most commercial software available. If we’re talking antivirus software, he wants Norton or Kaspersky ; if we’re speaking malicious software search and destroy programs, he must have Spyware Doctor. Me, on the other hand, I go with whatever keeps itself recent more . For virus scanning, I use the free version of Avast, and for my spy search and destroy software, I use Spyboot Search and Destroy , and Ad-Aware by Lavasoft. Both these are free, and both appear to do the job very well for me.

Now, this isn’t an article to bash any of the more commercial programs, but I am truthfully inquisitive about what others want to say about this. You see, I was using Norton at one time in time, but got uninterested in having to pay for it while I was still getting viruses. Each since I’ve gotten Avast, even though it is the free version, I haven’t had another pathogen since. Adware doesn’t work so well, because you get adware way easier than you do viruses, but even now, I do not experience as much malware as i did when I was using Spy Doctor myself. When I had Spy Doctor, I was coupling it with Spyboot Search and Destroy , and it might never fail, after running one, the other would pick up on some the first one had missed, so this gave me the notion that neither was better than the other.

Even to this day, with the 2 of us running Windows seven ultimate, my mate gets viruses on his computer almost weekly. This makes me wonder, is this an antivirus, or adware program thing, or is this a user thing? I’m not sure, but my opinion is that I haven’t fallen victim to any viruses in a while, and have not suffered any adware attacks like he has in a while.

What I am looking for here are individuals who use Norton, or Kaspersky, or any pathogen program like this, because I might actually like to hear your feedback on it. Even when I check the rankings for antivirus programs, though these are a couple of the more expensive programs, they almost never make top three ( 5 in a lot of cases ). However if you were to go out to forums and things like that, folks are consistently downing the free desktop software. This is what makes my chum thing they are definitely a waste of time and effort, despite seeing that I haven’t fallen victim to anything, while using free versions of each of my programs.

So, does this all rely on the user, or does it all depend on the program? And why have I got such a better skimming experience than he, while using nothing but free software?
