adware pc security
help with viruses, malware, adware and spyware and security programs?
[this is the part where i get confused...correct me if i'm wrong]
MALWARE is a general term for any program that will harm or attack your computer, and under malware we have VIRUSES, ADWARE, SPYWARE which attacks the computer in different ways either via malicious programming, pop-up advertisements, programs disguised as safe programs etc.
[so for security and protection i have....]
malwarebytes anti malware installed which takes care of MALWARE
then i also have AVG antivirus free edition which takes care of VIRUSES AND SPYWARE (which, in my understanding is under the general term malware which is already covered by MALWAREBYTES)
[my questions.....]
is there a redundancy or overlap in the purpose and function of these programs? can i delete one of them and still get 100% protection from all threats?
can you suggest a protection scheme for my PC? (what programs to install etc)
If you are going to use AVG free, it does not have ROOTKIT protection and you will need all the help you can get,cause AVG just don’t cut the mustard.
